Calling all foster parents and foster children from all child placing agencies in East Texas: You are invited to a Life Book Extravaganza hosted by the Tyler Foster In Texas (FIT) office this coming Saturday.
Plan to join us to help create Life Books for your foster children:
Saturday, August 4th , 10 am – 1 pm
First Baptist Church, 801 E. Main St.
Whitehouse, TX
Children in foster care have been removed from everyone and everything that is important to them, and it’s a heartbreaking fact that they risk losing even the memories.
- Who will collect the photos of their first birthday cake?
- Who will capture their first bike ride? Or save the awful school pictures?
- Who will help them put down on paper the good times with their biological parents?
- How will they be able to remember the people who cared for them until it was safe to go home?
Children in foster care need someone to be their “memory keepers.” Foster parents have the opportunity to do just that and help create Life Books for their foster children this Saturday. This very special Life Book event is open to any and all foster families and all their children. It’s going to be lots of fun and there will be a bounce house, pizza, and all the art supplies you’ll need to create something lasting and wonderful.
This event also counts as THREE training hours for foster parents.
Spread the word among your foster family network and come on out to “Get a Lifebook!”
RSVP or call Shelley Reese at 903-939-3400 for more information.
