Johnnie, a wonderful and generous member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, discovered a special God-given talent that she uses to help the Foster In Texas (FIT) kids we are currently serving in north Texas. Johnnie sews beautiful blankets from fabric scraps she collects at local crafting stores. After hearing that our kids often come to us with very little (if any) personal items, Johnnie began making blankets for the children we bring into our north Texas FIT offices, to make sure they had something that was just theirs upon arriving at their new homes. The blankets are colorful, personal-sized, and cuddly. It’s amazing to watch the smiling faces of these young children – just removed from horrible situations and completely lost without their familiar belongings – as they’re given blankets that were made just for them.
